Did Me Proud

I love Juicy Couture, but I realize some people don't. They find it frivilous, too expensive, and not chic. Maybe they aren't big fans of tee's with Juicy scrawled on them, or maybe they don't like velour tracksuits. (And I pitty them, I really do). But because some people don't think Juicy is quite as chic or mature as other brands, I was so proud when I got an e-mail from Neiman Marcus with this picture:

It said Shop Juicy Couture but I didn't quite believe it at first. But when I clicked on the link I was amazed.
It's such a great look, really fashionable, like their Couture Couture line, but without the thousand dollar price tag.
This outfit makes me love Juicy even more.

Thoughts?

I Left My &hearts In San Francisco

Yesterday I went into 'the city' (as we call in here, and people will know what you mean) to see Jesus Christ Superstar. But first, we had a tiny bit of time to go shopping! So we headed straight for the San Francisco Centre, and split up, my mom and me and my brother and my dad. While the boys went off to the Champs Sports, my mom and I headed to the new-ish Juicy Couture store, which I hadn't been it yet. It was so great! I didn't get anything there, but just being there was fabulous. Then we went to where we really wanted to go, the Bloomingdale's. If I had to shop in one store for the rest of my life, Bloomingdale's would be it. There is half a floor (and it's a really big floor!) that is just JEANS. hEaVeN . I went in with the intention of getting Rock and Republic's but I tried on some 26-es (whcih are my size) and they were too tight, and there werent any 27-es. :( But I did find the most fabulous Chip and Pepper's in 26 that DID fit. (Which boosted my self esteem too).

How can you resist a pair of jeans with the tagline 'You've got a sexy bum' ? It always reminds me of my English aunt, who talks with the greatest english accent.
As much as I love these jeans (I would wear them immediatly, but they still have to be hemmed, like all the jeans I buy...) there was another pair of pants that caught my eye and I have been dreaming of them since.

Paired with layered tops and a Seven For All Mankind denim jacket, were these Marc by Marc Jacobs jeans. But not these exactly. The ones I saw had one side of a zipper trail on the side seams. They were SO cute. I can remember now, while I dug through the Rock and Republic's, turning and seeing these jeans and rubbing the zipper with my finger. As soon as I woke up this morning, I looked for them on the Bloomingdale's website, but couldnt find them :(. I guess I'll check my local Nordstrom. (To add to my misery, I think they were on sale!)

I love cities.

(By the way, how do you like the new layout? I finally made it read-able! Yay. I love it, plus I am so proud of myself for knowing the littlest bit of HTML to be able to make it look like this. The header picture I took yesterday in the city, it was on the Nordstrom window. My new mantra, and the way I'm gonna live my life from now on)

'Cuz I'm Glossy

Remeber when you were little, and you had those necklaces and rings filled with lipgloss? That sticky, gooey, bright pink lipgloss, and you would smear it on your face and put on fake pearls and think you were all that and a bag of M&Ms? Well, I was looking at the Sephora website, looking for ways to spend my gift card, and you'll never guess what I found! Lipgloss in jewelry! But this is not the cheap stuff you wore when you were three. Here are my finds:

(Dior Dior Pretty Charms $55)
How cute is this? The icy charms, the locked look of it, and the broken heart inside. But of course, it's Dior.

(Hard Candy Lip Gloss Ring $6/Hard Candy Keepsake Heart Lip Gloss Compact $18)
I lllooovee the brand Hard Candy. If you don't have anything from them, I suggest you rush right out to your local Sephora, and find the cute little Hard Candy counter. All their stuff is brightly colored and adorable, just like the two lipglosses above. I absolutly loooove the compact, it's so adorable in its BeJeWeLeD glory. And what's cuter than a lip gloss ring? A lip gloss ring that says 'Kiss Me' on it.

(Sephora Piiink VIP My Deliiicious Bracelet $8)
At first, I thought this brand was cute (I can't really stay away from anything named 'Pink') and then I started to think it was a little obnoxious. I mean, who are they trying to sell this to? Sometimes it seems like the three year olds with the sticky pink faces. But this bracelet is really cute. With the heart and the rhinestone P? And it's made by Sephora, so you know the lipgloss will be good quality!

(Too Faced The Beauty Brooch Cameo Avant Guard $28.50)
This is my favorite one off all of them. Lipgloss behind a cameo charm, surrounded by hearts, jewels, and baubles. And it doesn't hurt that it looks cuter than the rest. I'm not sure I would wear it as a brooch, but I'm sure I could figure out something to do with it!

(Urban Decay Commando $26)
This one would probably look the least ridiculous if you actually wore it. Dog tags are cute, and this one is adorable, purple with a floral design and URBAN DECAY stamped into it. People might not even notice it had lipgloss in it until you opened it up!

(Juicy Couture Lip Gloss Charm $75)
You know something is the real deal when Juicy starts making it. I did notice that this Juicy one is the most expensive of all of them, but it is just too-beaver-dam cute! I love everything that Juicy makes that is gold. And this is no exception!

Stay Glossy!

A few things I think are cute...

Whoot! I'm on Winter Break!!!! Two whole weeks without an ounce of homework (well, except to read) and endless time to pArTy and hang out with my friends. Plus my totally awesome cousins are coming from NYC to ring in 2007 with us. I have a three more ideas that are on this raggedy piece of paper I write down fashion blog post ideas on when they come from me. Then I cant start new for the new year. Here they are:

(Smittens, Restoration Hardware)
I saw these while flipping through one of endless Christmas catalogues that got sent to my house this year, and thought they were so cute. Holding hands while wearing the same mitten? How adorable.

(LEGACY TWO-TONED FRAMED WRISTLET, Coach , $148)
What do you get when you cross a wristlet, a wallet, and a change purse? I think this little thing is like the cutest ever. I saw this in a catalogue too. Toooo cute!
And here's a few stocking stuffers if you are still looking for cute gift ideas:

Some jewlery, some little mirrors, some lip gloss. Most of it is from Fred Flare and the rest is from Sephora.

Merry Christmas!

Randomies

So much for the whole 'No rain' thing.
Note to self: don't wear jeans with holes in them on the first day of winter!

I just have a few tidbits of random fashion stuff to post. Tomorrow is my last day of school before winter break, and then I will have two long, luxurious weeks off. I promise a steady flow of fashion then! And for now...

I found this shirt on Fashion 156 a couple issues ago, and I just thought it was great. Sure, it's mens, but it's Prada. Plus, how cool would this look if you could pull it off?

Some really cute shoes, also found on Fashion 156. Sorry though, don't remember the brand.

And this cute Juicy Couture shirt. I don't know why I like it so much, I just do. ( It must be the oversized buttons ;] )

Here's some pictures of the makeup from the Fashion 156 'Christmas Issue' I absolutly LOVE them. It's not a kind of makeup you would really wear, but the glittery, icy, sparkles of frostbitten makeup? Heaven.

Something I just have to get off my chest, and see if anyone agrees?

Now, tell me if you think I'm crazy, but don't you just love the way your hair looks when you pull it out of the way to wash your face at night? And everytime you try and recreate this look, it NEVER works? It's like, if you put annnny effort into it, it ruins it. But at night? I love it.

Ok that's just my random thought.

sTaY cUte!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

(Uggs, True Religion jeans, Volcom jacket, Halogen sweater, handmade scarf (my best friend made it for me!))
I'm not sure about where you guys live, but recently here it's been totally freezing! No rain, no snow (psh- I wish!) just below freezing temperatures and frost. But I did find a great outfit to wear anyway!
You can do the same with some cute looking jackets, vests, scarves, gloves, and hats!

Popping Collars

The other day I saw a girl in my French class wearing a short sleeve shirt over a polo, and I thought it looked so cute. I'd never seen/noticed anyone wearing that before. So I tried it out. The day I wore that shirt combo above, I noticed four other people with polos under shirts.

Say it with me.

Ain't No Other

You can say what you want about Christina Aguilera, but recently I've become obsessed with her. I imported my old Genie In a Bottle-era CD into my iTunes and listened to the songs I haven't since I was 8. Plus, I bought all her new songs that have the high energy and heart-broken melodies that only 'Xtina' can pull off. And whether you like her or not, you have to admit that she's come a looooong way since this era:

(Although Beautiful is one of my favorite Aguilera songs.)

(Christina at Fashion Rocks in September. I love love love her style here, the navy look but in glam gold!)
Christina is SO talented, did you know that she has a four-octave range? And I just love her old-Hollywood style these days.
I love the phonograph behind her, the mod zebra carpet, and the patten leather in these two pictures.

And who but Christina can pull off those alluring smoky eyes and bright bright red lipstick and nails, also with platinum blonde hair? (Granted, it's dyed, but it look so good on her!)
Here's a few tips for getting Baby Jane's makeup looks:

(Hard Candy Eye Candy Eyeshadow in Licorice, Bobbi Brown Sandwash Eye Palette, and CARGO SmokyEye brush)
I have all three of these. The black eye shadow is so great as a base for the smoky eyes and then the Bobbi Brown palette has shimmery eyeshadow in every color, a smoky eye for every outfit. But what will really change your life is the CARGO brush. I could never live without mine once I got it!

(Dior, Chanel, Vincent Logo)
Living with my mom has definitly taught me a thing or two about TRUE red . When I go off to college, my mom will be content with knowing I will never see a burgendy, pink-ish red, or (ack!) orangy-red, and let it pass for true red.
(Can you guess that my mom's favorite color is red?) I'm glad to say that Christina's reds have fallen into the True Red category. And so have the lipsticks above.

My mom also has always, for as long as I can remember, had True Red toe-nails. She'd never settle for less, and neither should you. The BEST True Red nail polish is Sporty Kar Red by Sation. (the right one) There's no replacement for this.
Think like this. Your red should always be the same color as a Red Ferrari.
(The other lady's nails and nail polish bottle in this picture are also True Red)

Christina's fashion style is so Old-Hollywood. Here's a few finds that reminded me of her:

And a picture that probably inspired Christina herself:

Betsey, All I Want For Christmas Is Vous!

Vous, as in plural of you. Because lately (Well really, always) Betsey Johnson has been making my heart swooon.
It all started with this picture in the Nordstrom catalog:

All of the jewels and baubles in this picture are Betsey Johnson! Oh how I love her. I think my favorite from this is the arrow through the heart necklace. I would so wear that! I do like the huge heart bracelets, but those are only practical until I sit down at school and try to write anything.

There's No Place Like Home
These are the shoes Dorthy would wear if she lived nowadays. Not exactly practical for Tornado weather and running away from wicked witches, but So So cute!

First postion, Second position, Third position, Fouth...
I think I'm starting to get obsessed with ballet style clothing. Leggings and tights, ballet flats, floppy tops and jackets, scruny skirts? So cute, so cozy. And of course, these flats would match aNyThIng. Who doesn't love bows? These are IN the fabric!

I saw this dress a while back when I was looking for Homecoming dresses. (Funny, I did get a Betsey dress, just not this one.) Anyway, ever since I saw this online (i never actually saw it in real life...) I kept running into these--\/ (psst! look down!) shoes in stores. Red, black, pink. I've seen em. Fabulous

Two absolutly stunning dresses by BJ. (How cute is it to incorporate a belt into the dress' design? Fabulous!

I am absolutly obsessed with these new Betsey wedges. They are hilarious! Chic Dangerous Daring Betsey? All of the above. I would love to wear these to a garden party with a cute little straight sided cotton dress. Either lacy tights or a ridiculous pedicure. Headband a must.
Why did I have to get wedges this summer? These are so much cuter!

(I've said it before and I'll say it again!)
Make Betsey Proud Girls!

My New Favorite Movie

This weekend I watched The Notebook twice. Once by myself (which involved a lot of sobbing) and once with my two best friends (which involved a lot of hugging). Both times I cried, but both times I also realized how great the clothes in this movie are. (That's me. Crying but loving the fashion...) I found as many pictures from the movie as I cold.

If you're a bird then I'm a bird.
What a great line is that? I love her bathing suit here! Cute cute cute. Sighhh now-a-days there is no place to wear an outfit like this. If there were though? I would in a heart beat. Headband and all.

In general, I love her dresses in this movie. How fabulous would it be to wear dresses like these all the time? Rachel McAdams never fails to look fabulous. I also love all the hat type things...
(I love how right after the top picture, she shoves the ice cream in his face and then kisses it off.)

I love this blue dress!
I love how she shows up with he suitcases and just shrugs her shoulders.
And of course...

This is my favorite scene! Who wouldn't love to lay down in the middle of the street with a gorgeous guy?

Allie: What happens if a car comes?
Noah: We die.

It Took Me Long Enough...

but I finally wore my dress to school! It took a long time and a lot of outfit changes (this is nothing like what i was wearing at first!) to find something that wasn't hideous/didnt make my hips look huge. But I think it turned out nice!

Does this ScReAm California to you?

(Well, besides all the backgrounds that I added...)
I was wearing this outfit the other day and suddenly felt very California-stereotype-y. Juicy velour jacket, Uggs, jeans? Looks a lot like everyone else walking around my school with a fashion brain stem.

I also realized that I look way short in that outfit. I mean, I am short but I look even shorter than usual in that!
Huh.
Weird.

The Brits Got It

I have always been a huge fan of London fashion. True, New York will always be my favorite city on Earth, but London runs a very close second. (Note- I have not yet been to Paris, so this all could change...well not the New York Part though.) I visited London for the first time this summer and just fell in love with the way the people walking down the street were so fashionable. Not like us ugly Americans (you have to admit, we can be ugly at times...).

(Don't ask me what issue of Teen Vogue this was in... it's probably embarassingly old)
But this girl's style is fabulous. A lot of the girls on this page tend to be British. It's great.

Plus, who could forget Top Shop! Love that store!!!

Now London is great, but this might be overdoing it...

hehe

"You're Doing It! You're Becoming Mighty!"

Anyone ever seen Space Jam? With Michael Jordan, Bugs Bunny, and all those people? Well, anyway, there is a scene in it when all the cartoon characters are doing a workout tape and the instructer yells out the quote I've put above. It's hilarious. (And so is the movie, if you haven't seen it then GO NOW AND RENT IT!) All say I felt sort of familar (or my outfit did) and when I got home today I realized that I looked sort of like the intructor! (Unfortunatly, I couldn't find a picture of her. But don't angst!...)
Ballet Chic! One of my favvve looks:

(A&Fitch white denim jacket, the black shirt says 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!' from when I saw Mary Poppins in London, Top Shop skirt, pink ballet tights, the leg warmers were my aunts, and black converse)

Gawd, how does Susie Bubble do it? You notice how she always has herself and her cute outfit cut out and then has a background instead? Well, I tried to do that today, and failed pretty miserable (you will notice the jagged lines, no?) and it still took me a long time. She must have a greenscreen. Or a whiteout feature. Oh you can do that on photoshop. Righttt (ignore my ranting. im just mad cuz i have no good photo editing program so i cut my pictures out on microsofty word!)

What was I saying? Oh yeah, ballet clothes! You will notice me above craftily (cough. cough) photoshoped (but not with actual Photoshop) into a ballet studio, doing the various ballet positions I still actually remember. I did ballet for 5 years but quit when I was like 10 or something. I've always sort of had a desire to go back, but never did. (Note: desire stronger now, so I could wear clothes like these more!)

This outift might be a little bit more 80s workout tape. I had a sub in Heath today and he said I looked like Jane Fonda or Olivia Newton-John. Pix below:

Jane Fonda above doing a workout, Olivia Newton-John below, at the end of Grease (oooh which is another movie, that whether you have seen it or not you should GO RENT RIGHT NOW)
That's what I'm going to do anyway.

love always,

Parrrrrtayy

So my parents had this HUGE housewarming party last night with like a 100 people, and it was totally fun because 4 of my bestest friends were there, and spent the whole time talking, listening to music, and drinking wayyyy too much martinelli's and then a whole can of TAB at abour 10 PM. (And then one of my BFFs stayed until 1 AM, and we werent even tired). Ok, but the point of this story is to show you what I WORE. Below!

It's my new Free People dress, with a black slip under (which was my mom's, which was supposed to start at your waist when you wore it, but I wore it as a tube top), pink ballerina tights (im not even kidding. my mom was a ballerina a few years ago for halloween, and these are the same tights) and my new black ballet flats. I LoVeD how I looked but by the end of the night, I had taken off the slip, put on jeans with huge holes in them over the tights, and put my black velour jacket on. It actually didn't look half bad.
